Private beta · Version 2026-10-01-beta1
Private beta
terms.
The terms for testing Vault and using its messaging service.
Effective October 1, 2026. Read together with the privacy notice.
Provider & contact
Vault is provided by the individual developer identified for Vault in Apple’s App Store or TestFlight distribution information accompanying your app. “We” and “us” mean that individual developer. Vault Support is the contact name, not a separate company.
For help, questions or abuse reports, contact support@vaultmsg.ch. For personal-data requests, contact privacy@vaultmsg.ch.
Testing the beta
Vault is offered for private testing. Use it only where lawful and if you can agree to these terms, with any legally required parent or guardian permission. The beta may contain defects, lose data, interrupt delivery or change without providing a replacement for every feature.
Do not use Vault as an emergency service or your only store of important information. Continuous availability, delivery deadlines and compatibility with every phone or network are not promised. Test accounts and beta data may be reset before public launch; notice will be provided through the support site or distribution notes when reasonably possible.
Purchases are disabled for this beta. A test entitlement does not authorize a charge or create a paid subscription. Any future paid service will have separate purchase information and require an affirmative purchase action.
Accounts & security
Use an account and phone number or username you are entitled to use. Your display name may be a nickname. Keep your device, passwords and recovery material secure; never send passwords, recovery secrets or verification codes to support.
Vault supports one active device per account. Use its supported transfer process before replacing a device. Recovery can replace the account’s encryption identity and does not restore old local message history. Losing device keys can make history unavailable.
Message and attachment payloads are encrypted before transmission. Eligible delivery modes use other participating devices and central nodes to hold encrypted delivery data. Technical and account information is processed as described in the privacy notice. Security controls cannot stop another participant from retaining information they receive or recording a screen with another device.
Acceptable use
Do not use Vault for unlawful content or activity, harassment, threats, exploitation, impersonation, spam, fraud, malware or attempts to compromise accounts or the service. Respect other people’s rights and consent. You can block unwanted contacts in the app and report abuse to Vault Support.
Access may be restricted where reasonably necessary to address abuse, protect users or the service, or comply with law. You may contact Vault Support to ask for a restriction to be reviewed. A report does not guarantee a particular investigation result or access to another person’s encrypted messages.
Changes & leaving
Security and compatibility updates may be needed to keep using Vault. Material changes to these terms will be published with a new version and communicated through the app, support site or distribution notes as appropriate. Continued availability of the beta is not guaranteed.
You can stop testing at any time. To delete your account, open Settings → Account management → Delete account and all local data and complete the confirmations while connected. Uninstalling alone does not request deletion of backend account records. The privacy notice explains temporary delivery data, recipient copies and records retained separately.
Your rights
These terms describe a development-stage service; they do not exclude or limit rights, responsibilities or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Your mandatory consumer and data-protection rights remain unaffected. Apple’s applicable distribution terms also govern your use of its App Store or TestFlight services.
